Hi there,I used the search feature and no threads came up.Can  anyone advise me on a good electric trolley for my 66 year old golf mad dad. My  budget would be in the region of £200 and last 18 holes, and if possible  be able to buy the trolley instore rather than online. His golf buddies have a "power pro" and an advert on the tv advertises a "power bug".Any advice would help, thanks in advance.

Try and post a link in the AV Forums Golf day thread - you may get a decent response from the chaps in there.

I reckon 99% of the electric trolleys I have seen on the course are made by PowaKaddy.  I've also noticed a few people using their bags and they didn't own a trolley.  My mate says they are about the best.  I have no idea which models are available but I would definitely start my search there.  Your local pro shop is your best bet but obviously the large golf chain stores like American Golf etc. should stock them.

I've used a GoKart for the last couple of years as have a few of my golfing friends.

Electric Golf Trolley - Buy Lightweight Electric Golf Trolley - GoKart

It's my first electric trolley so I have nothing to compare it to but it has been very reliable.

Good user reviews on Golfmagic forum

They are just up the road from me but no connection

ive been thinking of getting myself one of these lately.

As has been said Powakaddy is the most popular and probably the best out there, for that fact you will pay heavily.

There are plenty of other good brands out there which arent as dear and will do the job, i got a lend of one afew weeks back which was called House "something" !!!!!  - it was fine and done what it needed to do -  "carry my clubs".

PS - in my experience i would stay away from Pro Shops - everyone i have been to has prices that are ridiculous - online or one of the large golf stores is the way to go in my opinion. - or as Abbey said - on here

Bought this last summer - Stowmatic Titanium GT £199 - and it has been 100% reliable.

My course is fairly hilly and the battery is good for the full 18 holes on a Saturday -
charge it up again, and it takes the 18 holes again on the Sunday at a breeze

Wife is off to Dublin for the weekend so I'm playing this afternoon at my own course - 18 tomorrow on an even hillier course - my own course again on Saturday in the Medal and then back out again on Sunday

Don't expect any issues.

2 friends bought the same trolley at the start of this season and have had good experiences also.

Recommended.

another vote for the gokart from me, just got mine and is far better than my old trolley, it folds out in a jiffy and is easy to put away and folds down to fit easily in the boot.

My Dad bought the "power bug" from American Golf,he says's its great and likes the fact that if the battery dies you can adjust the wheels so that they free run. Thanks for all your helpfull replies and if I get anymore feedback regarding the power bug i'll pass it on.
