For me one of the main improvements from a larger sensor is more flexibility when processing raw files which is why I asked if you use raw, if you're shooting jpeg only I think there's less advantage moving to a larger sensor particularly when the 4/3 sensor in the Panasonic is close to the size of the APS-C sensor in the Sony.
Although it gets a lot of criticism I think the Sony 16-50mm is a really handy little lens well suited to the compact Sony body but beyond that I find it frustrating there's very few compact lens options, particularly like the tiny Panasonic 20mm F1.7 lens.
It sounds like another Panasonic m4/3 camera will be a good choice and certainly worth handling one to try it out first if you can. |
