What to replace Lumix GF1 with

Hi,

Feel the need to upgrade my faithful red Panasonic Lumix GF1 but what with?  The obvious choice is a Lumix GX9 but I am also attracted to the Sony A6000 (A6300 may be a bit of a stretch for the budget) due to the feel in the hands.  I normally take stills (not much video) and not that much sports photography though nice to be able to.  Ideally I don't want to get much larger than the GF1 with 14-45 lens attached.

They are all clearly much better than the aged GF1 and my two lenses woudl fit the GX9 but those Sonys do look nice.   Thoughts welcome please!

Which lenses do you have and what do you mainly use the camera for?  Also do you use raw?

Hi. I have the GF1 kit lens 14-45 and little used 20mm pancake. Landscape and street photography mostly. Don’t use Raw.

Panasonic G80 with the lenses you have.  Maybe get the newer 12-60!.  The G80 is a great bit of kit and can now be had fur bargain prices.

Actually I hadn’t considered the GX80 but that may be a good call given the spec and cost.

Would I notice the difference of the larger sensor of the Sony given that I don’t print or blow up shots very often?

Imo.. Not really.  You would have to be printing the size of a door to notice a difference....I have printed upto 36x24 and actually sold images taken with M43 camera and prime or short lens.

The G80 is a bargain and from what you originally said, fits the bill perfectly.

Wex photography have used gear.... Try them.  And it comes with 12 months warranty.

This for instance.....Panasonic Lumix DMC-G80 Digital Camera Body | Wex Photo Video

It's £428 and there is a code for 10% of saving a further £42.80..... Total bargain, really is!

Thanks for everyone’s interest. I’m going to have a look at a GX80 at the weekend if I can (thanks for suggestion Ice). Will let you know!

The Gx80 is the smaller camera.... The G80 is the similar shape to the flat but had the flip out screen and few extras over the Gx80... But both are brilliant value with stonking results when with kit lens...

Brand new gx80 at £379....  Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX80 Digital Camera with 12-32mm Lens | Wex Photo Video

Now that is a bargain..

Whoops - sorry Ice I added an X but it set me down an interesting path! The G80 looks a little dear and maybe larger? Yes my local Jessops has GX80 at £379 too; got to be worth a look.
