Any further updates from anyone with the black stainless watches re scratches?

About to (finally) pull the trigger on an Apple Watch today but flip flopping between the stainless with red sport band or the black stainless with black band (I have to buy from John Lewis as I get discount) and then picking up the bracelet early next year.

Having owned stainless omegas I'm at home with taking a pad to the clasps to bring back the brushed finish, or buffing out scratches from the polished areas but still a bit apprehensive regarding the black version (which is the one I'd prefer)

Great!  Just to reaffirm this, I arrived at my hotel tonight and looked down and there was a big silver graze on the strap!  It looked like the surface of the coating had come off.

I rinsed it under the tap, have it a buff with a towel, and there it is, good as new again!

Man I love this watch.

Hope you enjoy it as much

So do the Cape Cod cloths definitely work on the standard SS link without any damage?

So I was searching for people who had polished their straps and found this thread...... I thought I'd just see what you all thought about this strap, worn every day since release, never polished - is anyone's really in a better state than this?

@MarkR - so, how does it look after 18 months?

Whilst I can't answer for @MarkR, my 42mm SSSB (apart from the front coming away, which I've since had sorted out) still looks brand new. A decent clean and it would look no different to one straight from the factory. There's not one scratch or any surface marks at all. Also worn everyday since I got it.

I'm surprised! All I do is work in an office, no sports, although I do go to the gym, even that's soft and comfortable everywhere!

I finally had the strap polished in a jewellers yesterday, £25, looks as new now.

As you can see 18 months of use had left it looking particularly well used, not a single link didn't have a quite large scratch in it.
