What a shame.

Why is it always the good people that get taken like this?

Damn shame he couldn't see his product released and evolve into what will likely be the first true transition to VR in mainstream gaming. Just goes to show what a delicate thing life is. Poor guy.

Anyone have any idea on the actual release date of the Rift?  I'm thinking of ordering the Dev kit as I can sell it on ebay without making a loss...but that might be a bit more difficult if the consumer version with improved screen is going to be released in the next few months!

Steve/whoever else has these...how are you finding them?  I've watched loads of stuff on youtube etc, and it looks amazing, but I'm wondering if it's one of those things which you think "wow, this is cool" and then never/rarely switch it on again.

Yes..long way away

I think the same mate, if I get a whiff of consumer version I'll happily stick mine on ebay and get at least what I paid for it.

Personally, I cant get enough if it. It's not something that has fallen under the 'new gadget' category for me. Probably because it's still in it's infancy and new tech demos and apps are being thought up all the time on the various forums. Also official support will start appearing which is very exciting.

Oculus are at E3 this week so look out for any exciting announcements

oh man.

Do you have to be a certain level to be able to just free fly? Tried it yesterday and getting a bit lost in it. flying in third person and trying to get the lead angles on planes with a 360 controller is a nightmare.
