Thinking about it he's used to a 17.3" screen so he'll most likely want to stick at 17"

Lenovo 1st choice Medion last choice, there's no comparison.

Check out the support feedback

Medion is rated "Bad" with 2.1 / 10 on Trustpilot

SSD is a must. The difference is truly huge.

I've just updated daughter's Lenovo i5 laptop and it's gone from taking about 12 minutes to boot to 12 seconds! We did add another 8GB of memory as well, but it's the drive that had the biggest effect.

12 minutes to boot surely wasn't just an HD problem.

All I did was clone the drive and fit the extra stick of ram - 4GB - 12GB single channel. No other changes have been made.

An SSD will speed up the boot etc but my guess is there must have been an issue with the original drive itself to take 12 minutes to boot.
