Thanks for reading this post. Last bought a new tv about 13 years ago, been a great tv, still is but getting very badly left behind by progress now. Original set is a Toshiba 32WLT66, which in its day was a very well regarded tv. Been very happy with the HD picture quality, SD quite acceptable on most channels, but now need a new tv due to rogue grey/black areas appearing in certain areas of the screen. Not surprising given its age.

Due to room limitation absolute maximum will be a 43" and I have been out and about, spec'd up a few and inspected some in showrooms. Have a budget around the £500 mark maximum and waiting for price drops Black Friday/January Sales. Current short list is as follows (no particular order);

Panasonic TX-43FX650B
Sony KD43XF7073
LG 43UK6750P
Sony KD43FX7003
LG 43UK6950PLB

also waiting to check out Panasonic TX-43FX550B, due for release end of October. Assuming this is a decent set it would appear to be "ideal" for our needs.

Have ruled out Samsung due to the very limited viewing angles I have noticed in several locations.

Would appreciate any observations/comments and personal experiences of any of the above sets.

Thanks for your help

Dave.

Went from a 46" to a 55" no probs with room space & size.
You could wall mount & adjust as ness.
The new Panny 55 is fantastic, dual tuner as well.
On offer at present to.

Darich, if you haven't got one yet??
Go have a look at the
Panasonic TX43FX650B 43" 4K LED Television around £550

I looked at this type as an alternative & was really taken by it, (but in the 49")
Stunning picture.

As I stated earlier though I went for the
Panasonic TX55FX750B 55" 4K LED Television
Also I already had a satellite dish, so this one made more sense for me. (dual tuner)Freesat/freeview.

But at just over £1K its not cheap.
In my opinion the Panasonic is a better set.

Darich - did you ( or anyone else) find a full specification of the Panasonic TX-43FX550B? I was looking at the TX-43FX650B and from what little I can find, the 550 seems to be identical but £200 cheaper! There must be something in the 650 to justify the extra cost?

The 550 is likely a rebadged Vestel.

Panasonic don't have any vestel TV in their line up this year (or so they tell me, I didn't physically check that - I'll be furious if they lied about it though)

Philips 7 series is in that size and price bracket (£419 right now, cyber Monday). It's a decent panel with a great video processor for the midrange, and I always enjoy ambilight. Might be a good option for you.
