Its an interesting prospect and as others have said worthwhile keeping an eye on. Downsides not sure about yet another hub or cloud based product.

I have just moved away from having all my stuff cloud and app based (apart from alexa), and its much quicker and more reliable. I definately prefer to the option for switches rather than smart bulbs. Smart bulbs have a place but I don't want or need them everywhere quite apart from cost.

Given with what happened with Smartthings in the US last weekend, I too am looking to move away from cloud hosted solutions and move to a smart hub/controller for the house

So is it confirmed this is fully cloud based even for control from within the home?

Sorry Jouster this was a general reference to the HA market in general, not specifically the Den product. I have seen nothing to confirm whether control of Den will be hosted within the hub itself or will be a cloud hosted solution.

As the bulbs are the feature 13 Hue GU10s aren’t that expensive relatively especially if you buy them from Argos on their 3 for 2 deal. They would work out at about £215 which is about the same price as a good light fitting.

To be fair, a room with 13 GU10 will probably have multiple circuits, my 13 are in 3 circuits so it's not just a single switch you need but multiple way versions.

Also there's no need to have 13 of the colour bulbs, I've got 3 colour ones and the rest are are all white. Amazon deals and 3 for 2 offers made hue cheaper than a LightwaveRF 4 gang switch.

3rd party bulbs like Innr and Ikea can make it even cheaper, white IKEA GU10 are 7 quid each.

You sir are far more invested than I could ever be.

I also have another 6 in my utility room as well

Just nothing I’d ever do

That said I’ve got a 100TH media server so it’s horses for courses right
