This does look like a good move. But I can't help feeling the Yamaha RN803d does all of this and more, being as it's got YPAO included into the bargain.

I wonder which will have the better dac - this or the Yamaha? Might have to audition both to find out.

The Yamahas YPAO might well swing it for me if it’s any good from at least 300Hz down.

But those wanting hdmi switching won’t be impressed.

Dang, this receiver is going to warrant a further look as it ticks all the boxes.   HDMI could care less about   Price not bad with what it has to offer at $599 US.   Yamaha RN803 still at top of list and can get refurb for about $560 US. Going to order new systems when I get back in town late SEPTEMBER

Hey all!  I'm new here and new to surround systems, subs, etc.  My question: The NR1200 has 2 sub outputs; can I run 2 subs in Zone 1, or are the 2 outputs for the different zones or a/b?  I know this is basic for y'all, so thanks for bearing with me.  I look forward to the responses...

Both sub outputs are for your main zone.

If one is looking to bypass the internal amp and is interested in 2 channel only, is there any advantage to this over the $200 less NR1509?

If you’re going to use the NR1509 as a preamp only, then no advantage, assuming the 1509 has all the inputs you need.

I have been using the NR1602 for years in 2.0 config. I have been considering retiring it for a while and don't need surround so this looks perfect. It's been out a couple of months now, has anyone got any comments from experience?

For any Canadians interested in this unit, Amazon.ca has it for $559 CDN right now. I'm wondering if that's an error on their part as it's $599 US on the American site.  Anyway, I just ordered one...
