Interesting and thanks for the info guys. I've never seen this on any other system which had me confused, and some people suggested that no lights on the ethernet port should be on at all when a system is fully shut down. It is annoying having blinking lights on at all times but is this the way motherboards are designed these days? I was considering buying a new board but I guess this probably won't change anything?

Hi.  I want to be able to have a rig to play Witcher 3, GTA 5 and (eventually) Fallout 4.

I currently have AMD Athlon x3 (unlocked to 4 cores)
4gb ram
psu 500
6950 2gb

I've seen a few decent GPU 570/ 390, is it worth going for them now without upgrading the CPU? I know I will need upgrading CPU at some point, but do you think for witcher 3 and possibly GTA 5 I'll get away with it with just the GPU upgrade for now?

Thanks

Eh... wont really get a boost. Chances are your CPU is bottle necking your 6950.

Ok. Do you think a 2500k is enough? or should I go with something newer? I don't want to spend bucketloads, just something that will be enough to play these games on 1080p  on medium-high settings. Cheers

I'm so out of 'the game' here!!

I want to get back into PC gaming, though I'm not fussed about having absolute cutting edge from day 1. I have a PS4 and that serves me well enough for the biggest blockbusters.

So I'm looking for something moderate. Oddly enough the game I really want to run (well) is Euro Truck Sim 2, as I've really missed that bad boy!

Some other games to be 'nice' run at a decent level are rFactor, StarCraft, Diablo3, Xcom and the smaller/medium indie titles on Steam.

I've got an i7 laptop at the mo which I use for work and can run Euro Truck sim at about 10FPS.

Heres the kicker... I'm skint! Just moved so have a bigger mortgage and a near 3 year old running around gobbling up nursery money!

So I'm ideally looking to buy parts and make up something myself over time.

I've had a look through the classifieds but its a bit of a minefield to know what to put together, Do any of the bigger dedicated PC sites sell refurb bits? Any good tips of where to go please?!

Help!!!
