Confused though the R4 looks nice but the XL is an R2, is that2 steps down model wise?

The corsair carbide 500r looks nice aswell ad ticks the Collins boxes from the reviews.

No, the non-XL Define has just had more revisions as I think it's been out longer. The XL R2 is as up to date as the R4 in terms of features I believe.

The 500r is very nice too, although not sound insulated which was a must have for me.

So these 1440P monitors I keep hearing about, I understand apart from one available on eBay the majority of the decent makes such as the Dell or Asus etc don't do 120hz.

So my question for those in the know, as I mostly play FPS games would I be better sticking with my current 24" 120hz 1920x1080 monitor or going for a 27" 60hz 1440P monitor?

I remember going up to 120hz from my old 60hz 1080p monitor was a huge difference and everything felt so much smoother.

Do you want a higher refresh rate or higher res, some have one of each.

For me res trumps refresh rate, even in fps, a lot of people would say otherwise, but its up to you really, do you have a decent enough gpu for 1440?

1440 will look superior in every aspect. That said i have never been able to get used to FPS games at 1440p. I always find myself going back to 120hz if I'm having a COD or BF3 session.

I've got an EVGA GTX 780 ACX coming on Tuesday. That ok?

I'd prefer 120Hz at 1440P, from your reply is there several available then?

That's my main concern really!

You went for one, nice , i am majorly jealous of that cooler.

Like i say personally i'd go for a higher res over 120hz but its worth trying both to make sure you wont be making a mistake.

Wouldn't mind seeing what frames you get on a 1440 monitor with everything maxxed out with that card so chop chop

I don't know why any of you are considering upgrading at all, the GTX700 series is clearly so outdated that it's ridiculous.

We should all abandon PC gaming and get the PS4.
