Yeah true, not had that myself but I guess it's always something to break.  I just like the clamshell design and the big screens on the 3ds XL.  Noticed that the 2ds can be had for just £119 with Pokemon x or y though, which is great value for such a quality console.

Also there's loads of great Wii aware and I'm loving the 3D remakes of the Megadrive classics a at the moment (I'm an unashamed Sega fanboy).  Super Hang on, Galaxy Force 2, Space Harrier, Sonic etc.  I will probably cream my pants when they release Afterburner and Outrun lol.  The 3D does really add to those games as well.

Anyway, enjoy the 2DS, you really won't find a better console for games anywhere else at the moment.

Yeah I do like the clamshells myself, from way back when I had the Gameboy Advance SP, that one took so abuse but never a hint of a problem with the hinge, besides in the extremely unlikely event you'd have a hinge problem surely you'd just get Nintendo to send you a new one?.

I think the 2DS would annoy me always having to protect the screen, I've scratched many a screen in my time sadly. I put my ipad in my backpack and my keys in an outer pocket which had a hole in then just recently I put my XL in my inner coat pocket, took it out and it was covered in sand which would have made a mess of the 2DS.

But it just means that you'll likely need a protective case or some sort for it so a little bit extra bulk.....oh and one of those old fashioned screen magnifiers so you can see those dinky screens lol. Did anyone use them things back in the day?.

as do sainsbury's and asda direct picked up the black and blue one with pokemon y for £99 for the youngen for xmas lack of hinges and 3d was a bonus for me.

picked up super mario bros 2 and sonic lost world for £52 using a discount code too at tesco direct.
