I've ended up with Both... DOH!

Ordered X from Zavvi for £29.99 then 12 hours later i saw Amazon have Y for £24
I tried to cancel Zavvi but it was too late! So now have X & Y on they way

Just started playing Y

Awsome! First pokemon to catch was Pikachu! Had to be done

I haven't played a Pokemon game since Yellow was released my inner child has returned!

I have no idea how to add people on the DS? not a clue... haha

As somebody who has never played a Pokemon game before,would you recommend picking x/y up or grab hold of either omega/ruby or alpha sapphire??

Gotta catch em all...

errrr... I mean, from my understanding X and Y are the same but offer a few different monsters to throw your balls at.  Same with Omega/Alpha and Ruby/Sapphire and White/Silver, etc.

Ruby was my first Pokemon game I played through,  and I am so excited to play it again...  

I'd hold of for Ruby or Sapphire if I where you,  as the story was great,  so was the map. Really enjoyable. The Hoenn region is by far my favourite.

I'm going to Omega Ruby,  and am going to pick Mudkip as my starter Pokemon again

Grab a copy of Heart Gold or Soul Silver on the DS first - they're easily the best ones.

Yep I agree, they're easy to play and have a lot of content in.
