It was at an old farmhouse owned by a friend of my mothers when I was young. I suspect it was pretty old even then. It was back in the seventies, but we always used to have Fray Bentos steak and kidney pies, so not unusual to have a pie in a tin - those were lovely at the time, but I was rightly suspect about the sausage rolls. Don't know if I had actually tucked into them, whether it would have made things worse, but I literally only nibbled the pastry in the corner of one and they were not properly hot, so decided against them.
Stayed in bed for about five days keeping nothing down at all. With the usual - see how you are in the morning by my mother! Then the doc came out and sent me straight to the hospital. With my fear of needles, I soon starting drinking water and was discharged before they had to 'intervene'. Phew! |
