Well, the Woods has no spice by comparison, and I would say that it isn't anywhere near as smooth. Kracken is nearer the mark but it's the sheer intensity of taste that the Rumbullion has that knocks everything else onto the corner. I'm an old cynic, and when I read master of Malt's description of Rumbullion Navy strength I thought yeah, right, but I'm a total convert. Their description is honest and true, but I would add that although I wouldn't normally go for a 57% drink, the Navy Strength has a definite intensity and warmth that the 42% standard version doesn't have. Ultimately we each have our own opinions when it comes to taste, but note that Master of Malt do samples (and I'm not in any way connected with them)! |
