Had a good crop of runner beans, still getting them at the moment, tomatoes have been good. Picked some tonight. Leeks looked like spring onions, not too successful with carrots but we did get some that did a few meals.

Our pear tree exploded with fruit this year after producing 1 scabby pear last year. Lots of cooking apples from the neighbours tree.

And our grape vine is doing well and producing fruit.

*Adds MrSossidge to ignore list*

After my previous post my daughter begged me to allow her to grow something, we were just out of the end of the planting season for most things but to keep her happy we dropped some Little gems lettuce and some turnips in a small area of garden that she started digging and i finished as well as beetroot and radish in a couple of planters. Sadly the little gems never got going and the small shoots we had fed the slugs one night, the turnips have leafed but seem stagnant now but will keep an eye on them just incase the beetroot is still going but not sure if we will get anything to edible from them and the first lot of radish is being this weekend.

Decided to make some planters for next year from old pallets as they won't cost anything and i have a raised bed in the front garden that the walls are collapsing on so it gives me somewhere to put the soil from that. If they only last a couple of years then alls good as thats all i expect.

Still picking tomatoes at the moment. Runner beans are now done. Picked some yesterday but they are to big, woody and not very tasty at all so they've gone in the bin.

Homemade Tomato and Mascarpone soup today with the toms and still more on the plants.

Anybody started growing anything yet. We’ve got some (maybe enough for a meal for two) purple sprouting broccoli ready. Strawberries, potatoes, carrots, cucumber, courgette, peppers, peas, melon, broccoli all in. Some seeds for germination and some plants.

I’ve never really been into growing before but last year I had the most amazing tomatoes that one of my customers grew. They were baby Plumb or something.

I saved a couple of tomatoes and dried the seeds and out of the 10 or so seeds, so far I have two growing. I’m really excited about them

I’ve also got an avocado growing. No idea if it’ll ever fruit in my lifetime. I doubt it.

We had some lovely tomatoes last year too. Hopefully we've got them again this year.
