Is the underfloor heating electric ?
I can't understand why you boiler would use that much leccy, what is it ?
I wouldn't worry to much about the devices on standby. In the grand scheme of your usage, they won't equal much.

There is no way that a gas fired boiler will use that much 'leccy overnight. You MUST have an immersion heater in the system somewhere to be sucking all that juice.

Look by your Hot water tank and check the cable that goes from it to the wall socket is not switched on.  That is the immersion heater.

Gas boliers take next to no electricity.

It would appear that it is his whole house pulling approx 1kW an hour, which is above average but not that much different from mine.  If you are still concerned it is the boiler turn it off overnight and measure the difference in the morning.  Don't forget to turn it back on

That's what the OP said he wanted to do in the first post, but wants to put it on a time switch. And in reply to the OP question of whether the spur can be replaced by a socket. YES, but I don't think it will make much difference.

Thanks for the replies.

It's definitely a combi boiler, no hot water tank. I'm going to do some further investigations, I don't think my tests were specific enough. Thinking back I may have taken a reading after morning showers and I think the underfloor heating in the bathroom came on by mistake in the night.

So will do tests tonight and see if it's worth me spending £45 for a timer.

Can I ask what your usage please? It would be of great to know that someone else uses copious amounts of juice!

Well, 12 mins in a 3Kw shower is 0.6 KWh and that's a long shower. Your underfloor heating sounds like the most likely culprit

Interesting. Pretty sure it's a 10kw shower.

Underfloor hearing does use a fair bit but each thermostat has a usage monitor so I know exactly how much I've used.

Your combi bolier takes next to no electricity.
Soleniod switches on gas, ( a few watts)
Pump runs maybe 100watts.  That is it.
Do not waste money on a timer for the bolier.
10KW shower, so it runs for 10 mins.  Not bad really.

Electric heating now that is an issue.  But why do you have it if you have central heating.
