542kw for May, best month since the install in August. Oodles of hot water from the diverter too.

541 here.  Best May since we installed in Nov 2011. Best part of £300 so very happy with that.  Lots more of the same needed to make up for a terrible Mar and apr though which were both the worst comparable months since install.

1440 for the year so far.

Could really do with a good cost effective battwrybstorage system though as so far I’ve not used/wasted/exported 1100kwh

That’s the great thing about diverters. You consume lots of your generation as hot water which you can then use later. Not as good as a battery but the cost is vastly less and it makes quite a difference to your self consumption and to your business case.

See at this point in time a diverotr would never makesthe initial outlay backl...our hot water comes on for 20 minutes each day and that does us for a whole day....dso we dont need hot water all days long...but when our kids are older and showering everyday day or more, then ill take a look at  what there is new on the market

We've only got a small array, so for example have generated 10kW so far today.  When I calculated how long a divertor would take to pay for itself it was something like 25 years.  Just not worth it.  Having said that we exported 5.3kWh over the last 2 days and it would have been handy to be able to dump all that into our Nissan Leaf.  But the way the smart chargers work, (as far as I'm aware) they only divert charge to the car (in the case of a Leaf) when it gets over a minimum exported wattage, which we very rarely attain.  In other words, you can't "trickle charge" a Leaf.

Yes, I think both @jouster and @IronGiant are correct for their own circumstances, a diverter won’t make much difference to you. We have two teenagers so our consumption of hot water (and water from the mains!) is huge. Plus we have 5.6kw of panels so when the suns out we generate lots more than our base load. So a diverter works for us and was a cheap element of the overall PV cost (about £200). Won’t be the same for you.

I like the idea of trickle charging an electric car though, hadn’t thought of that that...

May! What a month, produced 2mw but obviously being on a lower [email protected]£0.12.7p plus export it only generated around £320.

We are taking delivery of our new electric car in July including a Zappi charger, that with our Eddi (hot water) should take care of most of our wasted export.

Pv impact on electricity consumption:

For 13 May - 12 June:
Last year: 919 kWh from grid
This year: 587kwh from grid
36% reduction from this time last year when we didn’t have panels.

June is finally shaping up to be a good month.   currently at a daily average of 15.83kWh and the 2nd best June since install (2012 to date)..just need to get above 16.61 to take the top spot which hopefully wort be too hard with the mini heatwave we've got coming....
