Not only that... the police he talks of can't stop these attacks. He's talking about the day to day police force, sat in their offices pushing their pens, walking the streets taking alcohol off minors, arresting drugs dealers etc..
The consequence of police cuts is more neighbourhood burglaries and anti-social behaviour, not an increase terror attacks.
Personally, I think the damage is done, we're a permanent target and these attacks will continue to happen, we can't stop it. It is impossible to stop a car mounting public paths and mowing people down. No amount of police on the streets can't stop this, even armed police.
We need to try and cut it off at the source by reigning in all known to be involved, deport them, don't let them back in, whatever... it seems most are known, why they are allowed to walk our streets I'll never know... this is where resources need to be focused. |
