Well, I think it's safe to say that we all thought that 2016 would be unbeatable; at this rate, 2017 might be even better! Next up - Le Pen wins the election in France, despite ETA disarming Catalonia and the Basque regions end up independent, Scotland becomes a new Canadian province, and Northen Ireland and Ireland unite as one country.

Despite all this, Rupert Murdoch survives into 2018.

I'm still trying to figure out where Nigel Farage fits into all this.

There is no need to, they will just vote not to have an election. To overturn the fixed term parliament requires a two-thirds vote in favour. It'll be a close call in the end, need to run the numbers.

Interesting Choices ....

Tory vote = Agree with Brexit
Labour vote = Who Knows
Liberal vote = Want to stay in Europe
Anybody else = wishful thinking ...

Tough for any opposition to say we don't want an election (which is what May is counting on), it would be held over them until 2020 and they probably still wouldn't be able to get rid of Corbyn by then.

Tories will back it
SNP will back it as they can have a clear mandate on 2nd indy ref if they do well
Lib Dems will back it without a doubt as the only way is up for them
Labour - some will - some wont I expect.
Not sure about Northern Ireland/Welsh politics to make any sort of call on that.

Can't see that happening,  even thier most ardent supporters would think them weak and spitful. May has basically dared them into a no win situation.

@TheBlueBrazil agree with most of that, except the SNP. I think they'll vote against it, support for the SNP in Scotland is falling as the majority do not want a 2nd referendum. I think they will almost certainly lose some seats if the election goes ahead.

This should kill off the "she hasn't got a mandate whiners." She can have a full term and brexit done and dusted.

Anyone feeling sorry for Russia? Can they interfere in so many elections at once?
