Isolated? What about his "gravitas" when he stated that he didn't support a shoot to kill policy for terrorists?

(Did his mum never teach him how to do a tie up properly...?)

neither do I, unless they are a direct threat to the public. What he has repeatedly said is that where possible he supports the idea of dialogue with opposing factions. one must bear in mind that the situations both in NI  and the middle east are largely of our own creation.the former through continual mistreatment of the Irish over the years, plantation of Protestants in Ulster in the 17th century and then the barbarity of Sunday bloody sunday. As far as the middle east goes the creation of the state of Israel and two military interventions both of which Corbyn opposed with good reason. Our policies in those two regions have repeatedly been wrong and counterproductive. At least the good Friday accord was an attempt at righting one wrong and involved dialogue which is whats Corbyn has argued for.
His tie and general appearance are fine

Weren't we supposed to be discussing how much ex-footballers earn? Please try and get back on topic, we already have a Jeremy thread.

So, moving away from LGS, the ladies at the BBC have sent in a joint letter to Tony Hall saying the their pay needs to be equal with men. Now and not in 2020.

So what is going to happen? Reduce the men's salaries? Unlikely.
This being a public body, the balance sheet is a bit different to a private organisation and Tony Hall will probably give them all a pay rise. He will just open his cheque book.
There will be no 'can we afford this' or 'Do we get a good Return on investment for Alex Jones or Zeinab Badawi ?

And by the way, most of the salaries are hidden anyway because they are working for production companies.

Alex Jones is quite fit, but she's not worth 400K.

In this age of austerity , I'd like to see them be brave and reduce (or commit to reduce) the mens salaries  Bound to be contractual obligations etc etc though.

The women have said they're not looking for a pay rise (even though they are in effect).

Really no harm in having a salary cap in some sectors (long long overdue with football).

Cap it at half a million for the Beeb.  Job done.
