I'm not sure if you're taking the piss or not regarding your comments about Blade Runner and not watching Connery's Bond anymore. Sure some things in older movies would not be tolerated in modern ones however I'm not sure that scene in Blade Runner is one of them. Connery is a product of his time in regards to his attitude towards women in film and real life but it's only a movie and in this day and age where everyone is lining up to get offended over this and that we all need to chill a bit. Of course we should discuss these type of things, especially with our children but we also need context and a healthy dose of common sense and no left leaning, thank you very much!
In the (paraphrased) words of the late, great Christopher Hitchens, "Just because you say you're offended does not constitute an argument". Especially when you apply it to the 'comfort over truth' banner that all regions fall under. |
