What astounds me more than anything, is the "extreme offence" taken at this comment isn't because of being called stupid, but being called a woman. It's genuinely comical to have heard it on the radio, some other bencher defending Jezza, and Jezza himself stating that he said "stupid people", and May complaining of misogynistic and sexist language. I know she doesn't really look like one, but at the end of the day she IS a woman, so I don't see the problem? I doubt anyone would have made a single complaint about the comment had Jezza, or May for that matter, called a make bencher a stupid man.
This is what annoys me about all this gender-related tosh; stop being offended because you *can* and only be offended when you *should*. And being called a woman - when claim to be, identify as, live as, and actually ARE a woman - is not one of times you *should* be offended. |
