I've only read the judiciary documents I linked to earlier, but it mentions that the guy bringing the case has testimony from people regarding how they took the slogan. Obviously, without seeing those testimonies it's impossible to know what they contain, but the case itself would be hinged entirely on how people perceived the slogan, and Johnson's repeating of it on numerous occasions, in comparison to financial statistics showing the actual contributions, and him being in Public Office.
As per the posts above, the suggestion on spending the money on the NHS has nothing at all to do with the case being brought, and neither does Brexit. That's no more than a clever campaign manifesto/pledge which is worded to be different things for different people. The issue is the £350m figure that's been proven as financially incorrect yet repeated numerous times by Johnson. |
