Interesting comments from the US administration:

There seems to be mixed messages coming from the US.  In the first instance it was their withdrawal from the nuclear agreement that caused the increased tensions.  Then the Grace 1 was allegedly seized at Washington's request.  Then Trump stated he would support Britain.  And now someone from his administration is distancing themselves from us.

Hopefully a clearer picture will emerge soon...

Interesting to note that Hunt has now said Britain will "now seek to put together a European-led maritime protection mission to support safe passage of both crew and cargo in this vital region".  He stressed this would complement US proposals in the area.

I thought the UK seizure of a Panamanian ship carrying Iranian oil started this  situation didn't it...
Doesn't matter though,i expect it will all get sorted..
Just find it funny how seizing Iranian cargo appears to be fine but when they retaliate it is a heinous act

I suspect Iran has been supplying oil to North Korea for a while.
