Nope.

However, firstly you have to evaluate:

- the level and impact of voter fraud.
- the efficacy of the any solution at reducing fraud.
- the costs of implementation, management and operation of the solution.
- costs and restrictions on voters.

If the level and impact of voter fraud is very low
the efficacy of the solution is not very high,
the costs to the tax payer to implement and operate are significant
and the impact to voters in terms of restrictions and costs are not zero

- then you are essentially introducing pointless bureaucracy, costs and restrictions on people which may result is some people being unable to exercise their right to vote for the sake of it.

Just introduce ID cards for all like the rest of the world, or passports. Then you won't have to make this more complicated than necessary.

Even better, do it on the blockchain with a smart contract Now that would be novel and unique. Build in consensus, integrity, immutable, verifiable etc...And you don't have to spend hours counting...

But nope, the UK really love to stick with old fashioned ways and apply stick plaster...We won't make it in Brexit with that ongoing mentality.

I don't have to evaluate anything. The decision is being taken by an independent body.

I get you'd rather shoot the messanger but what I think has zero influence.

Read the reports linked to as to why it is being done.

Ah, I didn't realise that nothing you have contributed to this discussion are your own opinions, observations or interpretations.
Thanks for the heads up.

Perhaps if I had seemed biased in any way then maybe you could conclude from my opinions, observations and interpretations I had already made the evaluations and you could assume which way they fell. Same as others could conclude that with you.

Either way, not me doing this so you are still better off taking it up with the electoral commission.

About bloody time. I still can’t believe I can just show up, say my name and register my vote. Don’t need to bring anything. Very weird system.
