Look dont get me wrong any abuse it wrong, any hiding of that is wrong and any corruption is wrong but lets not link every part of government or "establishment" together

We do have to remember these were different times. Very hard to imagine if you are young and not of this period.
While this sort of behaviour was illegal it was thought to be very odd, and carried out by a few perverts

If that wasn't the case how is it that a campagne group making sex with minors legal, was formed in those days, and taken seriously? Nowadays they would be put in the Tower!
So important to remember the times and understand that this was not thought permissible, but such a shameful thing and odd and unnatural that it wouldn't be spoken about. There was no internet either, and we know now that this kind of behaviour is appealing to many more than we ever thought possible and not just carried out by the Scoutmaster, boarding school teacher or Choir Master.

I'm pretty sure details like this would be relevent and need to know.  I believe people get riled because you are often encouraged to believe, if you are good person then good things happen, when really, its all about who you know and with some power and money to back it up, people become wise monkeys for net gains.

Probably same percentage of perverts but at the same time we had racism, sexism, homophobia  and corruption at a level more than we have now.

As Cliff says different times , if we can prosecute people involved in abuse at the time absolutely throw the book at them but dont tar everyone else.

Consenting adults were put in prison in the 60s for having same gender sex, even chemicaly castrated by the state into the 80s.  When was it OK to rape children?

Facts need to be known absolutely but making assumptions and carrying those forward for political or ideological views is not
