There won't be promotion of killings by the public face but that public face does not necessarily reflect what goes on.

And they were taught to engage in conflict in school?
Try reading a decent history book on the subject. I can recommend several if you're interested.

The reason I funied it was quite simple: the history of this sub-forum was forged in the heated debates and arguments on religion and ideological disagreements.
The last thing most people would want(at least I assume based on past experiences) is a resurgence of the prolonged and protracted "is religion good or bad" swings and round abouts game.

I am many others have put forth arguments and in some cases entire lectures on the subject and of course there were many fallings out, upsets and problems.

Therefore, it's best to keep it relatively superficial - religion and politics are intertwined and part of everyones lives to lesser and greater degrees, even if you aren't religious or political, you can't help but be impacted by either at some point and on some aspects of life. We can't avoid mentioning them at all, especially here, but to some extent it's probably best we keep it simple.

There are a gamut of discussions, videos, articles and debates across the forum history, the internet and elsewhere with which to inform oneself of the arguments for, against or indifference.
It may be helpful at least to get grasp of where I am coming from with regards to religion by watching debates by or read up on Christopher Hitchens.

But isn’t that what I’m saying. The religions don’t promote it. Yet some people who claim to be religious do it in name of their faiths.

The parents who say their kids are being 'indoctrinated' by UK schools

One of the lead protesters, Amir Ahmed, has helped lead protests at both schools despite not having children at either.
