As I understand it, if its Labour that puts forward a candidate, it is not opposed, purely on political grounds, by the other side. That is why the whips said the Tories should support labour's candidate Vaz.
It still seems like madness! The man is under two investigations, and is being put forward for the Justice committee?
But legal/ political difficulties aside... Anyone one who has a double life posing as a washing machine salesman, talks about drugs and has secret rendezvous with rent boys in a hotel... while married .... and it becomes public knowledge-------sorry, in my book, they don't get the job. |
