That wouldn't really work as Vaz is always going to win in Leicester East, traditional labour voters in Leicester are very anti-Corbyn. Unfortunately, they are also very silent about it. Best way to describe the typical voter in Vaz's constituency is 'capitalists with a social conscience', on economic policies they're centre-right very unlike Corbyn.
I'm actually kind of surprised the Tories haven't really campaigned in the city for decades, that's the east, south and west constituencies; vaz is in the East. Opportunity missed for the Tories as had they put some work in the last decade, they'd have a decent chance of winning a seat, just not against Vaz. |
