US Regulator Clears CME, CBOE to Begin Bitcoin Futures Trading.
U.S. financial firms CME Group, CBOE and Cantor Fitzgerald revealed today they will list financial products offering exposure to cryptocurrencies starting December 18.
Crypto currencies are still very, very new. They are still being used as a store of wealth, which is creating an upwards trend. I don’t see this changing for 2-3 years. After that, I believe some will start to transition into a currency and some will remain a store of wealth.
My main interest in crypto currencies is, at present, to beat my other investments in terms of long term gains. Hopefully, further down the line, those gains will easily transition into a currency, without too much trouble.
With regards to a crash to $1-3k in Bitcoin. For that to happen, I think it would need some major, global, macro event - none Bitcoin specific. This would also effect other asset classes.
