UK Productivity is one of the worst in the world.

Good example is hand car washes.  They provide more jobs, but are less productive than automated car washes.

I just take it as good news and defied the predictions. It's better than the EU.

The figure is 112,000 lower than a year ago, giving a jobless rate of 3.9%, well below the EU average of 6.5%.

Wages are up too.

Average weekly earnings, excluding bonuses, were estimated to have increased by 3.4%, before adjusting for inflation, down by 0.1% on the previous month but still outpacing inflation.

I wouldn't use one. I think it will create swirly patterns on the paintwork.

I'm not arguing the employment figures, just wondering why higher levels of employment don't correlate to higher productivity for the UK?  If it's just that more people can say that they have a job, even if it's only a few hours a week, what's the point?

Does the ( timely) Bercow intervention push us closer to leaving on the 29th ? What reason does the UE have for agreeing to a delay if May has nothing to offer ?

I have avoided most of the vitriol surrounding brexit, but I did have to laugh at the headline "EU to charge £13m to delay brexit"

In actual fact, that's just the membership fee.

It's like agreeing to cancel your Netflix subscription, then delaying it and be outraged by them trying to charge you a tenner a month!

If May has the numbers to get her deal through then she also has the numbers for a motion to set aside the speakers ruling on Erskine May

Higher productivity is happening. Just not as much as it was before.
I've no idea if that is the reason.

The link tries to give reasons as to what's happening, for instance, hiring lags behind productivity, but also points out Brexit isn't stopping people hiring.

I'm not referencing Brexit or the reasons, it was just a query as to why the employment rate is the highest it's been for such a long time but productivity is lower than it was before?  However its' worded, productivity is lower yet employment is higher, suggesting that the employment figures aren't the be all and end all in the wider view of the economy.
