There was also my comment about the statistic on page 6 of the GERS report.

I think that's a bit overblown. In Sturgeons speech in April she stopped short of declaring a referendum would definitely be held, naming a date for one or repeating her call for the powers to hold one – evasions that didnt sit well with hardline independence campaigners.

And I replied to that post in my post 127. But as you clearly didn't read it, here it is again.

Government Expenditure and Revenue Scotland: 2017-2018 - gov.scot

It clearly states that the figures are produced by Scottish Government statisticians.

To quote the whole section.

Q: Who produces GERS?

A: GERS is produced by Scottish Government statisticians. It is designated as a National Statistics product, which means that it is produced independently of Scottish Ministers and has been assessed by the UK Statistics Authority as being produced in line with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics. This means the statistics have been found to meet user needs, to be methodologically sound, explained well and produced free of political interference.

What part of that don't you understand? Maybe you want to claim Scottish Government statisticians are not employed by the Scottish Government?

Maybe the Scottish government website I linked to is fake?

Doubt it. Next PM is very unlikely to grant another Scottish Referendum whatever fish face wants, certainly not before Brexit happens anyway.

I'd still not be surprised if it was a No vote again anyway. I know ~ 10 Scottish friends or colleagues (some living in Scotland, some in England) and only one of those would vote Leave. I appreciate those may not be fully representative.

If they UK government refused another referendum when the Scottish government formally requested one it would cause a constitutional crisis. Eventually it would be settled in court, at which point the Nationalists would have a great example of the UK government bullying Scotland.

Let them have it. And let the whole of the UK vote in it. They may just get what they want.

I so much agree with this , give the reforendum to the whole of the UK to get the job done.  Get Scottish independence done n dusted fast enough then that would scupper remain in a second referendum for Brexit , would it not ?

Why would the rest of the UK get a say in the future of Scotland and the Scottish people?

If the decisions in Scotland the and the rUK didn't match it would create an even bigger crisis.

Why shouldn't we , we are part of a union are we not with shared interests?

Also with Scotland seeking an ongoing 2nd referendum on independence from the UK .If the UK does ultimatly go for a 2nd referendum and on Brexit , should the Scottish vote then be null and void as they are seeking independence?

Would that not be regarded as a conflict of interests ?
