I call your belief that people voted on the strength of what was on the side of a bus as the height of stupidity. People voted how they did because they were affected by the EU and its policies from day to day. If people believed what was on a bus there'd be no need to have had a campaign at all. Just stick a slogan on a bus and job done. No need for making films like Lexit The Movie, and Brexit The Movie and sticking them on Youtube. No need for TV and radio debates, no need for literature and reports.
No one voted to leave the EU based on a banana. If you think they did you have no hope. Boston had the highest leave vote. It was also heavily affected by migration. Ordinary people couldn't get a decent job or a home for their family.
Note also regarding the EU and sovereignty. What's the EU dream?
"Ever closer union."
Treaty after treaty has meant the EU taking more and more control and less and less to our accountable government. No one had a problem when we were just joining a common market. |
