What book are you reading at the moment Pt2

Re Dark Tower, oddly enough, I had an email from Kings website this morning promoting the new DT novel, The Wind Through the Keyhole, so I did have a quick look, and although I know I will end up getting it, I did wince at the price, as the UK publisher (Hodder & Stoughton) is selling the ebook for an eye watering 19.99

Had a look on Amazon, and the ebook is £10.99 (still far too much) and the hardback is £8.99, which I'm sure (know) is the one I'll go for, I just fail to understand how they can charge so much for the ebook

As for Under the Dome, I didn't struggle as much as some of his other novels to get into it, but I know what you mean. However, I'm completely immersed in it now, to the point I have a wierd 'dread/harrowing' feeling about reading it at the moment because of the part of the plot I'm at.

Busy reading Fevre Dream by Mr GRR Martin. I'm not usually into books about vampires but I'm finding this one quite good actually.

I'll hoestly never understand the whole ebook thing, I love the physical feel of a book and knowing it looks good on my shelving

But those prices are bloody ridiculous it has to be said, there is no physical cost involved at all to justify that kind of pricing structure.


Under The Dome becomes so harrowing from about the mid-point - to the end so I think I know where you are

It is worth it at that price though, His easiest book for me recently was Blaze which I errrr blazed through in just over a day, Cell was another that took me a little bit of time to jump into and immerse myself.

Never read any Dark Tower books, despite hearing them mentioned a fair bit.

Just started reading the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy so I'll read the start of the Dark Tower series next.

Well you will not be disappointed, the first book is relatively short and is a whizzbang introduction to his amazing world

Standard war book but enjoyed it more than Tom Clanceys Splinter Cell that I recently read.

Agatha Christie - The ABC Murders

Seems I read it just the right time with the Murdoch interviews in the Leveson inquiry. Provided background to much of what was discussed and gave me an insight into the issues. In retrospect it was really a great read for those interested in journalism and how it's been reduced to the state it's in today. Anybody who has ever had any interest in journalism cannot help but be angry and saddened when they read this book.

I started on The Hunger games on thursday, I picked it up on Amazon for £2.50 or something like that for my Kindle. I'm finding it pretty hard to get into actually but I'm sure it will pick up and get more enjoyable.

I have just finished reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill, thought it was pretty good and looking for to reading his newer book Thorns in the meantime I have picked up The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan midway through the first book of the Trilogy.
