I went to Japan in April this year for the first time, and I absolutely loved it. My favourite ever holiday, everything about it was amazing.

I have similar daydreams about returning!

So, it looks as though we're going to Tokyo next year, thinking about staying in the Shinjuku area, good or bad idea ?

Found a hotel just a short walk from the sky tower , would that be a good area to stay in ?

Shinjuku is a great area to stay in...lot's to do, see, and eat around that area during the day and night.  I've always based my stay in Shinjuku whenever I visit Tokyo.

Not sure about the area where the Sky Tower is, is it Taito?

The rooms in the Gracery Shinjuku are indeed small, but it's a great hotel in a convenient location.
See Tripadvisor reviews for more info.
