Hi All,
A quick update:
I went up yesterday to pick the car up. After all of the advice on here, I was very well prepared, and was willing to walk away if anything looked off or if I got a bad vibe.
Met the lad, who lived at home with his parents who run a boarding kennels.
Looked the car over (not that I know much about cars), took it for a test drive, and all was good.
Came back and checked all of the paperwork (V5, service invoices, MOT details, loan paperwork) and all looked in order.
Phoned the Finance company, confirmed the settlement figure. He paid his amount and then I paid my amount.
He received, and forward to me the email from the Finance company confirming that there was a nil balance.
Drove the 4hrs home without any issue, so hopefully the car is mechanically sound.
Once again, thanks for all advice.
