No it isn't banned for being "too good", it is banned as it takes away the need for some skill that the drivers possess (or at least, should do). The idea is to force the driver to perform, rather than rely on technology.
With regards to road vehicles and the ability of the system to react faster than a human can - of course it can react faster, there is no debate about that. The point is, should the driver pay attention to what they are doing and drive according to conditions and situations a faster reaction shouldn't be needed and this is the whole point - its a system designed to allow the driver to be lazy and slapdash, I see no issue with drivers having to pay attention to what they are doing.. or is that too much to ask these days ? |
