After a recommendation from my son I fitted Uniroyal Rainsport 3's on my Golf R.
These tyres are as good as the Bridgestones they replaced in the dry but are fantastic in the wet.
Only about £75 each too.

I always recommend Uniroyal Rainsport 3's. Great tyre for the price and the best wet tyre I've ever had.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 getting fitted tomorrow on my Mk7 golf GTI - £92 each including fitting at home so don't even need to leave the driveway.

Done 17.5k on the tyres from new - backs are fine - plenty of life in them yet.

Very happy with mine - GTI Mk5, just had them all changed out last week and geo done. Drives like a different car now, replaced a right mishmash of cheapo brands that have been on the car since I bought it. They had plenty of life still in them, but knew that I wasn't getting the best out the car with them.
