Money saving expert is saying increases of about 6% this year but that's no where near mine! I've done a couple of search engine ones and cheapest from the bunch was £330! This is shocking, nothing happens in the sticks where I stay!

@mjn its hard to imagine it's good value for money. I'd be taking the bus ha swings and roundabouts tho isn't it.

Insurance companies have it all, compulsory so they charge what they like.

UK drivers to save £35 after new curbs on whiplash claims | ToDriveFor

Either this year or next, i'm expecting my car insurance to fall given a change in the law in coming.

No excuses either as the insurance companies are on record (and in writing) saying that savings will be passed on to drivers.

Costs me @£500 a month all in to have a motor ..... this bus idea of yours sounds good, theres a cheap rail line nearby too within ten minutes walk
iirc an annual pass is £1200 covers both bus and train in our county BUT for the amount of use I would have... a £5 per day rover ticket would be cheaper

That doesn't seems so bad but I'd imagine your in the same boat as me, buses and trains don't often go where you want so cars are extremely convenient! We just have to suck it up lol as usual [emoji1]

Just got my actual renewal through and thankfully it seems like they're more sensible than I thought .
1st year - £550. Added someone to policy during year as they needed a car, then took them off (so back to what I was originally). What with the extra charges for changes and whatnot, this added about £82 to the overall year cost so total spent £632.
This year - quoted me £533 - so if you ignore my changes, thats a reduction of £17 ...

....better than a kick in the teeth and much cheaper than the comparison sites so not too bad imo.

Yeh while I'm moaning I can't get it cheaper than the renewal price. I don't understand the increases tho as it's 100 higher for me in last 2 years. That's 50% increase in two years. Ok it's £280 and while it looks cheaper than most policies it used to be £180.

You've done well with yours, they must be putting mine up to offset yours lol [emoji16]

Renewal in and for no reason, other than they can, it's gone up 14%. Can't get it cheaper anywhere else so will have to suck it up and pay it.

There used to be at least one quote elsewhere that would be a fair bit cheaper but in recent years I've found that to not  be the case.
