Just a different map, same as on the Cupra 280 or Australian versions of the Golf R I assume.

I'd personally do it if you want more power but don't do it for economy.  If the powers there you're likely to use it and, in my experience, better fuel economy is very rare.  That's only my experience having owned and driven cars running various maps from a variety simple stage 1 to much more complex, and from a variety of tuners.

It's more power I want, I had a CC 190bhp 2.0tdi as a courtesy car and really liked the extra oomph

It was also interesting to read the power that the gear box, drivetrain and engine can handle. It would suggest they are well over engineered for the standard output.
