I have a MkV Golf - it's had Pirelli P Zero Rossi, Continental Rainsport and Michelin Crossclimate.
Honestly hard to tell the difference as you're always trading in a worn tyre for a new one so the new ones always feel better.
The Crossclimates on my other car made a huge difference to the ability to get around in the snow during the Beast from the East when the Continentals were pretty useless but that's a fairly minor concern for most of us in the UK.

I would get them changed, as for the brakes, hard to tell. Changed mine on Sunday, took about an hour for both sides, discs and pads.

I usually rely on the service measuring the disk, there will be a minimum thickness, apart from obvious deep scoring then I would get them assessed.

Definitely has one, well two actually.

And she is helping and working on her car as well. She learned long false nails and mechanical engineering don't go together, but she still managed to help me get the bonnet off, sand it down, paint it, apply sound deadening and proofing, remove and refit a steering wheel, and how to use a multi-meter and trace wiring

Ok, fair enough. As long as you haven’t just hired someone for the picture

Fair play to her for taking an interest and it gives you some Dad / Daughter quality time
