Just in case it helps anyone about dashboard speedo (or other things).
You can get a standard OBD2 (OBDII) Bluetooth adaptor, mount your smartphone to the dash, and have it display any number of car-specific information items. The exact readings depend on make/model/age and specific app/reader in some cases, but the port itself has been a legal requirement for quite a while, so is a great way to give yourself a big digital speedo should you want one.
It also allows you to read fault codes when you get a light on the dash, so you know your mechanic isn't fibbing to you... |
