If you're really getting in to it I'd recommend....
Nilfisk pressure washer (choose a model that suits)
Snow Foam
Meguiars Gold class shampoo
2 x wash mitts one good quality one and one a little cheaper for the lower parts of your car
2 x wash buckets for the two bucket method
A Clay kit (I'd stick with fine if you're going to be looking after your car) and possibly some clay lube to play it safe although waters fine
A 5 ltr tub of tardis (try ebay or local autosmart dealer)
EZ Detail brush for backs of alloys
Couple of small 1'' brushes
Autoglym fast glass for the windows
Couple of decent cloths/applicator pads/drying towel
Wax is your choice, my wax or choice is swissvax best of show although I sometimes use onyx as well.
Best wax for alloys and exhaust tip is finishkare 1000p, very durable on paint but not quite as good as the swissvax stuff.
That little lot would certainly keep you going for a long time. I wouldn't worry about polishing yourself yet as that takes things to a whole new level and to do a decent job you'll need a few hours practice under your belt using a decent machine and various compounds. If not done properly you could make the paint look far worse than it originally was! |
