Let's be clear: new generations do not have to espouse the comic stylings of their parents, going off in new directions is encouraged.
We saw this in the 60s where entire movies and TV shows broke new ground, to the confusion of the prior generation, and connected with teens.
So to simply accuse this show of being "different" is not enough.
No, let's accuse it of being vile, unfunny, badly written, badly acted, lame, sloppy, and generally operating at the standard one might expect a high school film class operating without either budget or adult supervision.
Am I not being clear? -- under the pretence of satire and cleverness, this show delivers neither, and could be one of the worst shows ever to have been greenlighted in the history of the medium.
And - for the record -- shows targeted to younger viewers do not HAVE to be awful. Look at AWKWARD for example, just keeps chugging along, offering sharp writing, acting, and direction.
