Read the book first (highly recommended to do so). Some scenes are fast edits in and are not explained until later. If you like thinking backward you'll love it. It starts with Akiane Kramarik's unfinished (and unrecognizable at this point) painting "Prince of Peace." Only at the end of the movie do you find a connection to this story. A similar edit in is Colton's sister who never made it through birth. That said - this movie is true to the book with very good performances. A part left out (thankfully) is that everyone in Heaven gets swords. The images of Heaven are a bit sappy and would have been better left out. You just can't beat imagination and Colton's explained imagery are enough. Sometimes heavy-handed, the messages are still moving. See it, rent it or buy it. We all need a break from the worries of this world. SZB
