Another good result in the ladies World Cup yesterday. India beat the defending world champions with an outstanding innings by Kaur and a good performance in the field against a fight-to-the-end Aussie team.

Third Test at The Oval: England 353, South Africa 126-8

A wonderful day for Toby Roland-Jones, we must applaud this selection. I certainly didn't agree with the inclusion of Malan however. And it could be that Broad is near the end of his test bowling days BUT, at 1-apiece, England have been gutsy and wrestled control of this series again as the tourists crumbled. Du Plessis' dismissal was astonishing really - an awful leave.

So our captain isn't confident of us bowling these out for 400?

Astonishing. The lead is almost 500 and Broad has his pads on.

Best part of 140 overs to bowl them out. Should be more than enough time.

I think he missed a trick there in stamping himself as a positive captain. Positivity often causes negativity in the chasing side.
Luckily Kuhn just lost his off-stump to Broad so we're on our way.

The ugly and damaging Aussie cricket pay dispute is over now time to get serious as our Baggy Greens head to the warm climes of Bangladesh. If we recall this is the second attempt at this tour after the first was abandoned due to security conserns a couple of years ago. This piddling two tester is scant preparation I have to say for the cauldon that will be the Ashes in November. England is hot to trot after disposing of the Saffers and will do the same to the oft pathetic Windies.

We can but hope. We got rid of Jennings so might field a full eleven.

Positive start in this historic test at Edgbaston.

Perhaps I should rewrite that as a wicket falls.

Stoneman, on debut and who had started so well, has been bowled off his pads for eight.

The ball is more salmon pink or rose-red than shocking or Pink Panther pink.

England won the toss.
