I went with my female friend to see this movie. Now being a male I was skeptic that For Colored Girls would be a "chick flick", but I was wrong! Okay the story starts off presenting multiple characters. As the movie continues on you are presented with everyone's ordeals and issues. Each character portrayed theirs realistic situations in such a heart felt and emotional way. There is an issue about trust and rape. Issues about HIV and the gay community. The bond between a mother and her daughters. The most impacting moment I did not see coming from a mile away, but I will only say...... it involves child and spouse abuse. Being a young black male I was very effected by this movie and at the end it had me asks myself questions about our colored community and the way we all effect one another. Every actor in the movie impressed me and this was a very...and I do say very gritty and realistic movie. You won't find many jokes here....only tears and compassion. 10/10 Go to the movies and bring a friend. I highly urge females and males regardless of ethnicity to view this movie!
