I put this on for a holiday theme while playing trivia. I have to agree that the female lead is terrible, and I didn't realize that greasy grunge hair was in style. Her boss, the 'dragonlady', appears to have rat's nests in her hair in the opening scene...their way of making her look frazzled? When will these script writers catch up with the times: you cannot threaten an employee with dismissal without being slapped with a lawsuit. A pity that they didn't cast a Scottish male lead for authenticity, although I think Dan Jeannotte did the best possible with the script. I do hope to see him in more in the future.
They make a big deal about driving in the daytime in average rain to return to the castle. Since it rains a lot in Scotland, I'm sure the locals would be accustomed to it, so points lost there.
The lone reindeer stealing her handbag in the woods was preposterous. The big question is...who took her notepad from the perfumery? OMG, the blue gown she wore to the ball was hideous. Couldn't they match the netting to her pale skin color? The neckline was way too big for her and too heavy with beading to stand up to the style.
The Duke is entirely off key with what's going on. I would have expected that his character would be more supportive of his son's feelings. More points lost there.
I did like the sappy ending, except for the awful fake snow.
