This story is about middle class people in India. Mudit is young guy not high on confidence. He likes Sugandha, but never musters the courage to go and talk with her. When his mother suggests to him to send a marriage proposal through a matrimony site, the ball gets rolling. The marriage is fixed and they start dating. One day they find themselves alone at Sugandha's home (which is rare in middle class families) and get intimate. Mudit realizes that he has erectile dysfunction and the story takes a turn. Mudit tries to hide it from his family and tries to solve it by all means possible and Sugandha is supportive. As the day of the marriage approaches everyone knows about his problem and complications ensue. The couple stay strong, get married and have a happy ending after a lapse of some months.
A light hearted comedy. The things I loved about this film were the subtle depiction of a middle class family struggling with tradition and coming to terms with the modernity and present day culture. The screenplay and acting are also good. Bhumi Pednekar is great. Ayushmaan Khurana has a set way and he gets roles accordingly. But I thought here he needed to be a bit more insecure perhaps. He is not convincing as a person with performance anxiety. A nice film.
